dude
By the way? Since I haven't actually updated alot on this on LJ:

Christian Haruki Lett. Bitches.

Doing the Lett eyebrow. Apparently I look "like Owen's little brother." Please excuse the grainy iSight capture. This Tuesday I see a doctor about starting hormones. Maybe I should have waited until after that to post this, but I got impatient.

Questions?

liquid waffle cone
You know what I haven't done in awhile? A Favourite Starbucks Creations post. Here's five, in no particular order. All efforts to sound like a prissy douchebag: completely intentional

1. Iced triple grande sugar-free vanilla latte.

My default drink, before I decided to give up espresso: an iced latte with three shots of espresso, two percent milk and sugar-free vanilla. Just the right balance of coffee and sweet, and a good, quick caffeine boost for that first fifteen minute break. NOT a Skinny Vanilla Latte. Nonfat milk = bleh.

2. Iced grande half-sweet sugar-free vanilla whole milk iced coffee with milk.

My less-espresso'd version of the above drink. Slightly less creamy, although the whole milk partly makes up for it. They changed the name from Iced Coffee Con Leche to Iced Coffee With Milk so people would actually order it. It worked.

3. Iced grande half-sweet, two scoops matcha, green tea apple juice.

Charles' invention: he says it tastes like a green apple bubble tea. I don't think so, but it's good any way. If you don't like the grassy taste of matcha, it's good even without -- but it doesn't get that lovely algae-pool look. Also good with apple juice: iced black tea.

4. Tall toffee nut, soy, no whip strawberries and cream frappuccino blended creme.

A customer ordered this and said "It tastes like strawberry ice cream in a waffle cone." It really does. It's amazing. It's crazy sweet, so I'd only go for a tall. Make sure you ask for soy milk instead of the cream base. Some baristas will tell you it doesn't blend properly that way. They're wrong. WRONG.

5. Grande no dairy, with matcha, with protein, with strawberry sauce orange mango banana blend.

An orange mango banana Vivanno smoothie-thing ("Noooourishing blend") with strawberry sauce instead of milk. This only works now that we have the new strawberry puree that's less outrageously sweet than the old stuff. Again, feel free to leave out the matcha. And even the protein, if dairy or whey is just not your thing. The important parts are the orange mango, the strawberry, and the banana.

culinary genius
Mixed up some eggs for tamagoyaki. Botched it so badly I scrambled them and tossed shredded nori on top.

All the taste: none of the presentation. I deliciously fail!

Back in London! As of about 12 hours ago. Now off to work, then to Pinery.

The cat missed me. I think.

even old new york was once new amsterdam
I'm off to New York for four days! I'll be back Saturday morning. Probably not reachable by net, but I'll have my phone with me if anyone desperately requires my attention.

Also, due to my lack of sense and some changes to the work schedule, I finished work at 2:30am and plan to leave the house at 5:30am. Attempting to sleep would be silly at this point. I think I'll do something exciting, like clean the hamster's cage.

entire conversation!
Today I had an entire conversation with a customer who then referred to me as "he." Considering how badly I THINK I pass, I'm pretty damn pleased.

both very important
1. I gave in and got Twitter.

2. I'm now working on presenting a male gender identity at all times, both at work and socially. Not sure how far this will go, but I will keep the world posted.

Most likely through Twitter.

gonna be a happy new year
AAAAS uusual, sauced beyond ALL REASON to welcome in the New Year. And this time you, Owen, are not even around to bad influence me. No, just a bottle of Bajan rum.

I wish good evenings and feel-betters to all my friends. No matter how much of a spaz I am you remind me that you're all lovely people.

merry christmas!
And a jolly Snowflake Day to you all.

Presents have been sent out, and now I go to bed. Gotta be up at 8 tomorrow because sometiiiimes you have to work on Christmas, sometimes!

No, but seriously. I signed up for it and it does mean some sweet cash. And I love that Harvey Danger song, no matter how depressing it's supposed to be.

gradually regaining feeling in legs
Friends,

The next time I think it's a good idea to volunteer for an outdoor event in December in Ontario? Please talk me out of it.

Love, me.

No, it was actually kind of fun. Linda carried around a giant tank of hot chocolate on a backpack frame, looking like a Ghostbuster. I got to hold the nozzle and dispense. Jen -- the toque you made me pretty much saved my life. Especially since I chose the wrong day to get my hair cut really, really, head-exposing-to-the-coldingly short.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go find my toes.

content sigh
I just finished eleven straight days of work. I have an actual weekend off, and it just happens to coincide with the last two days of NaNo. I have 4000 words left, a glass of brain lube to my right, and I just got promoted.

can't find the pause button
I'm safely back in London. And these are the events of the past few minutes.

WIL: Hey Chrina.

PIIG: ... Did you just call me "Chrina"?

WIL: Hey, Daddy Dykebucks!

Giggling and silence.

WIL: ... ALL THE SINGLE LADIES! ALL THE SINGLE LADIES! ALL THE SINGLE LADIES! ALL THE SINGLE LADIES!

SHAUN: Shut up and eat your food!

high atop the MEC
I have made it safely to Victoria and am hanging out on the ol' beige corner-couch, NaNoing with Tresa. Her apartment is so swanky I never want to leave. My room is a tiny box bordered on two sides by a balcony that looks over all of downtown Victoria. I'll try and get some pictures.

Also, a conversation between the boys that makes it feel like I never left Wil and Shaun:

THOMAS: The password's ***1984***.

JAMES: No, it changed. It's ***1969***.

THOMAS: What's 1969?

JAMES: I dunno. The year I did your mom?

tragically, not actually travelling by TARDIS
I'm off to Victoria for about five days, then hopefully a day in Vancouver, if my sibling and Sarah will have me :3 I don't get to go home for Christmas, so this is my holiday return-to-homeland for the year. If anyone wants to hang out, post here, email, gimme a call, attempt in vain to contact me on Facebook, or just yell really loud after about 11pm tonight. I'll be hopping between my parents' house and Tresa's swanky new place downtown. But mostly I'll be crawling coffeeshops and working on my Nano.

That's a FUCK YAY FOR OBAMA IN OFFICE.

That's a FUCK EVERYTHING FOR PROP 8 LIKELY TO PASS.

That's my terribly in-depth response to elections next door. Latter killed the buzz from the former. I'm going to go to sleep and maybe when I wake up, a smaller percentage of Californians will be idiots.

boss lady plus four
NaNoWriMo is almost here. For the first time in 18 years I will not be in school this November, so me and my crappy attention span might have a fighting chance.

This year I'm doing a near-future semi-scifi story about the future of the Threadverse (as previously featured in the Ignorant Boys' Guide to World Maintenance).

I can't start writing yet, but here's a picture of some of the main characters. Carla's the POV character for the main/framing plotline. The two main characters of the secondary plotline aren't featured here, but Rex, Jenni and Trace are the trio that ties the two lines together.

And yes. Trace was named after the MST3K actor/puppeteer. Because I had to include some kind of an homage.
